Hi
I was wondering if anybody know if I could use a 2x converter (or 1.4) with the 70-300 DO Canon lens (I'll probably be getting the 30D when it comes out)
How does it work with 2x converters? how is it that it works on some lenses or not on others, etc.. (I might be wrong here though)
Anyway.. any info on 2x converters would be great.. I'd love to get the extra reach for animal shots

Can't do it.
Well, so says canon. It won't autofocus.
Read this:
I have done it with tamron converters on a sigma lens. the canon converters I think are limited physically to only connecting to certain lenses.
I have stacked them on a 70-210 2.8 lens (for an effective min ap of F11) and using a tripod my rebel will AF.

I thought the converters were only for L lenses.

3rd party converters will fit any lens
canon converters will only fit certain longer L's
