What are the thoughts on this system as a whole. I have been working on apples lately and like their simplicity. The thing that worries me is the fact the mini seems to be built like an ipod, not meant to be opened by the user. However as long as I can replace the hard drive when it gets to be that time I have no worries as the rest of the computer has no moving parts to wear out. Will the 1.25ghz processor and a gig of ram be sufficient to run photoshop at a reasonable speed? After pricing pentium four dells with shipping they come out to be no cheaper than a mac mini with a ram upgrade and the education discount I can get as a student. Plus it's an apple.

if you mean replacing th HDD when it gets full, you can always just get an external USB/Firewire one and move you pics there for storage. It is safer too.
Don't know much about mac performance to say anything about performance, but can't you try it in a store? |

Make sure the Mac Mini's price you got includes a monitor unit, keyboard and all those tiny essentials. |
