I haven't entered a challenge since free study, with the loss of my home internet connection (which is gone indefinitely.) As I braced myself for withdrawal effects, such as perpetual clicky-finger and sweating without end just before deadline on Sunday and Tuesday, I was pleasantly surprised.

Now this might come down to my lousy score on free study (which was deserved), or the fact that Ihave been too occupied to really think about how much I miss DPC. Nonetheless, I have seemingly escaped side effects and continue to live.

I've only picked up my camera for work, not the 'day out to shoot anything' type of trips. I've had the opportunity to shoot after work hours, but didn't take it.

I'm hoping this is a new phase, like a butterfly emerging from a cacoon. Perhaps after a lengthy absence from the challenges my abilities will fester inside me and explode shades of blue when I return.

Until then...

HI!

Welcome back Jeff, I know I've had a week or two with lack of motivation, but hey sometimes that's how it goes. You're work is really good and you shouldn't feel down about it in anyway, just because others didn't see your vision in no way shape or form makes you a sub-standard photag / artist.

Chin up soldier! Now go forth and kick ass!

I took a TEN YEAR hiatus from photography when I sold my business. Came back with a whole new, more relaxed, frame of mind. Recharge those batteries, man!

I look forward to seeing more of your entries in the not-to-distant future. DPC is a tough venue with a lot of very talented members, many of which are professional photogs. An average score on DPC generally means 'excellent'. Ribbon winning shots continue to amaze me with their unbelievably superb quality and innovation. IMO, you just cannot do better for online participation in a photo contest. If you must take a break do so, but don't forget to come back!
