I think I really did choose the wrong one this time. I applied a light sketch filter to my entry and, although I liked it, I wasn't objective enough to see how distorted it appeared at such a small size and resolution.
Here is my entry:
And this is probably what I should have entered:
With so many other elements involved, I doubt it would have changed the score significantly, but it might have at least brought it up to the level of my dpc average.
EDIT; "country" outtake, not "county" (sure wish we could edit thread titles!)

I like the 2nd one better. The colors are really nice, but there is something that bothers me. Did you shoot this through a window? Down near the bottom of the church, it looks like a reflection or something.
Seeing the 1st image, I would've voted a 5. That's only because I am not one for all the specialty filters. The 2nd one I would've given a 6 or 7. Maybe an 8 if that "reflection" wasn't there.

I gave this a 6 but I really didn't care much for the filter effect.
I felt it was a good find for the challenge, compositionally ok and the green roof was pretty unique for a church.
I like the original but feel it needs to be slightly desaturated.
The green appears abnormally green. :) |
