DATE CONFIRMATION -15/16 July 2006 Europe GTG Nude/Glamor and Portraiture Workshop

Dear DPC'ers,

after long discussions with the presenters and the organizers of the workshop, we came to the conclusion to set the date on the 15 - 16 July 2006.
The agenda is as follows (changes possible):

++++

15 July: The Nude/Glamor and Portraiture Workshop in Muenster/Northrhine Wesfalia
Meeting early in the morning around 9 o'clock, getting to know each other then brainstorming for the workshop.
Then transfer to the photo studio in Muenster where a published German photographer will hold an interactive lecture on nude/glamor and portraiture photography.
Preparation for the workshop: ideas, styling, make up, lighting set up explanations.
Examples of lighting variations including an effective workflow plus interaction with models.
Practical application by participants photographing the models with helpful feedback from the side of the workshop presenters.

Evening discussion over a few drinkies with the presenters and models.

+++

16 July: Walking photo tour of the historic city of Muenster.

+++

Due to photo studio, model and refreshments there will be a small participation fee. How much this will be, we will post in this thread once all the costs have been calculated.

For the workshop on the 15 July we will be required to set a limit of 20 participants. On the second day all DPCers are welcome!

We will go on a "first in, first served" basis for the workshop. Please send a mail to mail@kapluggin.com if you are certain about your participation in the workshop and we will put your name on the list.

Come on over and you surely won`t regret it.

Gary and I are on holiday for the next week, so we can answer your mails only from coming Sunday.

Anastasia Gary Peter

Cool.

Any news on hotel deals or should I book on my own? Any idea which area would be best?

Given that we're all coming from out of town, it'd be cool if we could all end up in the same hotel (or at least hotels close by).

The best deals on hotels are here. Muenster is not really that big, 250,000 inhabitants all together so it is not really important where the hotel is. Closer to the city center would be the most ideal though.

The date is perfect, I would like to participate on both days if possible.

To all: Are you coming with car or public trasportation? I just wonder which would be the best way for me.

Hi everybody,

imagine74 and myself will go almost for sure, but only to the second day. So we don't take any of the left places to the workshop.

I would like to be counted in as a possibility for both days but will need to conform in the next week or so.

Sorry for the indecision but that is life for me at the moment!

BTW what is the nearest airport to the venue?

I think it's Münster/Osnabrück International (FMO).

In this case the 2 Muensters below are the same, there is an Airport.
Muenster with Airport
Muenster mentioned by Gary

Nasti, Gary, is this the same?
I rememben once Wickey founding an Alfa Romeo he wanted to buy in Muenster but you mentioned it was another Muenster.

Looks as though it may be possible to drive from Calais to Muenster in about 4 hours, which could be a lot of fun, too!

Thanks for your help on this, guys.

I doublechecked it, it's the same. There is a direct flight from Budapest on every Tuesday. :-) For me it's cheaper than a car-drive... anyway, I don't have a car at all which would cause the next problem... :-)

I'm staying at the Kolping Tagungshotel on the Aegidiistraße 21. It lies pretty central in the city and you can park in several parking facilities for 10 euro a day.
I'll be there from friday-evening about 20.00 (I think) until mondaymorning.

Edit March 21 2006:

Update about the Kolping Tagungshotel:

It is renamed to Stadthotel Münster, still from the Kolping Hotel group.
I have asked them if this has any effect on the reservations under the old name and they replied that this has no effect. All reservations stay as they are. They even reacknowledged my reservation in that same mail.
