Mom pointed this one out to me, from the monthly Tammy Newsletter.

In case you haven't seen, Tamron has announced their 2006 It's a Wild World Photo contest. Entry Deadline October 31, 2006

Main rules:

Must be taken with a Tamron Lens.

from the tamron site

Tamron’s latest picture contest, an event open to legions of dedicated Tamron lens users. Actually, you don’t need to trek through the wilderness or go on a jungle safari to capture images that are potential winners. Your best photos taken while monkeying around at the local zoo, petting farm or aquarium may do the trick. The only rules on subject matter: An animal or animals must be prominently included, and the pictures must be in good taste. Entries must be received by October 31, 2006.

The “It’s a Wild World” grand prize winner will receive a magnificent Tamron AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II Aspherical (IF) Macro zoom lens in any D-SLR mount available and have his or her winning picture showcased in Tamron’s Viewfinder newsletter and on the Gallery section of the Tamron website. Up to 20 runners-up will also have their winning images published on the website for all to see.

Thought I'd share...

Not much of a prize IMO.
I have some nice tamron lenses...and was at cabela's store last week, they have a GREAT 'zoo' there...I'm sure I'd get 10 potentially winning shots.
check their shots out
I mean, a bit of PS work on this one...and a new lens is mine!

This sounds like a cool contest. Sure, the prize isn't that great (just one lens that sells for $389 at B&H) but it has a couple of features that I like. You can enter as many times as you want so no hard decisions about which shot to enter. And you don't have to give up the rights to your photos.

Mom sent me an email today saying that I should go to the contest page and check it out.

I got in the Tamron 20 Favorites (honorable mention) with my DPC Morning shot. Woo-hoo.
