ok normally i dont get annoyed over one vote but this is just bugging me.... my 126 vote dropped my score by seemingly over .2 (which at this many votes it significant im assuming it to be a 1 or a 2) and made my sin score fall under a 5 which bugs me ever more ( i think it will come back up again but ugh annoying) but whats getting me the most is the comment left... all it said was "too gothic" Its a Sin challenge!!!!! its supposed to be dark! is it just me??? did i miss something??? sin = bad = evil = dark all which have gothic undertones if not outright principals.... sorry my sin wasn't happy and peppy. Sorry to bug everyone with this... but is it just me or could it be a valid point??? im just feeling confused

Your feelings are valid!
BUT....remember..you love your photos like a child. To other parents your kid isn't so special. They look at your photos with the cold eye of a critic...only finding fault. Not the loving eye of the creator..seeing all the potential.
Don't let criticism keep you down. I actually make money in this industry and when I enter here I have very high expectations because I think I am supposed to know what I am doing. I get criticized, I get low scores and I don't like it but....it's cool. It's feedback, interaction..even little words help sometimes to lead you to new ideas.
My wife loves my photos and doesn't critique me, my boss is thrilled to have a new, bright-eyed pupil to pass his knowledge on to and is too close to me to criticize harshly.
Here...hehee....we all get it rough and uncensored. You may not like it but..hang tough...I think it will make you better overall.

If it's any consolation to you, I sometimes "park" a photo I have a problem understanding by voting it a 1. When I re-visit the photo and have had a chance to review it properly I give it the vote it deserves.
Sorry if your photo happened to be the one I parked today... if it is I will fix it later tonight or early tomorrow.

thanks all.... i think my hang up is that i dont really "get" where the comment was comming from, because critism i can take and i learn from... but when its critisizing the theme of the challenge photo and im getting marked down for hitting the challenge (well seemingly) thats where the fustraition lays.

Well nightrain.... fearing that I might be the cause of your angst, I went back and checked my votes on the "Sins" challenge and am glad to report that it was not me that gave you a 1 score.
