Just looking thru the scores. It's interesting that after a long thread during the voting dealing with what was and wasn't motion panning, there's still a fair few pics that did far better than I'd have expected. When you pan a relatively slow moving subject and use a shutter speed of 1/500, any background blur is far more likely to be shallow DOF than motion blur!

I agree with you. There were many pictures that used fast shutter speeds that resulted in out of focus backgrounds that got passed on as panning. I think any picture that had a + 1/60 second shutter speed could not create much panning.

Yeah, the majority of pictures weren't motion panning. But all of the top scorers were so...it all worked out. Maybe there should be examples in the challenge description so people have an idea of what to shoot and how to vote...ahh well.
