| For business headshots, does anyone know the most flattering angle to shoot? Above, at or below eye level? |

Slightly below eye level is the usual angle, I believe. It connotes a little bit of "power"...

| From what I've been taught: Shoot a woman with power at eye level, but shoot a man from slightly below eye level (which gives more of a view of power). That's fairly old school teaching though and I think today most anything goes as long as it works well for the person you're shooting. Shoot the angles that work best for them. |

Thanks for the advise. I have done these people before and the are... "challenging". They were my first commercial job and I don't think they were overly impressed the first go around.
Is there any rule of thumb for slimming the neck. I think looking down would tend to exaggerate the neck area. |

| If they have double chin or flabby neck, have them extend the jaw forward a bit, prop chin on hand (to cover it) or turn them 45 degrees from the camera and have the face turn slightly back toward you - not too much or it will make wrinkles on the neck. Just avoid the straight on mug shot look and you'll do fine. :) |
