No permission needed for the Capitol. I can get us up onto the parking deck directly across the street; the building itself should be open to the public (gotta go through security, though).
Directions to the King Center are easy:
take the Connector (I-75/I-85) to Freedom Parkway. Right at 1st light (Boulevard). Right on Auburn very soon after seeing the King Center on the right. |

I just called Jocks & Jills and they won't take a reservation. I asked them if we'd have a problem with a group of about 10 on a Saturday night and he said with a convention, a hairshow and the circus that there might be a little bit of a wait, but it shouldn't be too bad. The alternative is if the wait is too long, there is always the food court right outside the restaurant where there's plenty to eat. So we should be ok. Of Course, probably can't get a beer and a steak in the food court.... :-)

To get to the King Center, take 75/85 either way to the Freedom Parkway exit. Turn right at your fist ligh, which is Boulevard. The King Center is less than a mile on the right hand side. If I remember correctly, plenty-o-parking. See you guys there.

Thanks for the directions. I was in the process of looking on mapquest when you both posted. Jen knows how good mapquest works.
I would like to get a count of how many plan to meet at The King Center at 1:30.
I just dont want to leave anyone behind. If you need my cell number I will pm it to everyone.

MARTA Coming Through
This morning, I called MARTA back to follow up on my request to take photos from the Lindbergh station parking deck, and we now have verbal permission pending I get them all of our names. Apparently we sparked a new photography policy that is being finalized this week, and she said as long as I could get her the names of everyone that might be there Saturday evening, everything should be a go.
So, if you all could drop me an email ASAP with just your first and last names, I will get that right over to her and we should be clear. My email address is eric@creekfall.com.

Eden I am sure there will be a Spring GTG. We just need to determine where and when.

So I'm guessing if it's raining pretty good this'll be called off eh? I'm gonna watch the weather the first part of Saturday, if it's just spotty light rain, I think I may still head downtown and see what I can find.
Of course, if it's pouring I guess there's really no point.

I am neutral because I live inside the city. Whatever you guys decide is fine. Atlanta TV says rain SAT-TUE, but sometimes they lie. Just let me kno wwhat you guys decide.

I suppose it's probably best to reschedule. I know Eden can't do next weekend. If we want to keep it on a weekend night, how about 2 weekends from now, March 4?
I'm still gonna try to go this Saturday if it's not raining to bad. If anyone else is up for it, PM me so we can exchange numbers. Or check back here Saturday morning/afternoon so we can do a weather check.

I'm gonna pass on this Saturday. Weather may cooperate or not but with a 90 minute drive either way its a slightly larger time commitment for me so I'll just make the decision now and hope to reschedule with you folks in the next few weeks.
I appreciate the offers I got on travel and lodging; very generous and I feel like I'm missing out 'cause we could get some lovely pics even with moderate weather but waiting just makes more sense for me as far as this weekend goes.
Sorry all; I'll be thinking about you and looking forward to any shots you guys get.

I'll wait on a weather check tomorrow. I live in town, so it's easy for me to jump in or out quickly.
Looks like cold and wet all day, but it's hard to say if it will rain. As the saying goes, if you don't like the weather in Atlanta, just wait 20 minutes and it'll change. Or move a mile in any direction. |

| I was talking with the friend that is coming with me, and we decided we would call Jen before we left to head up there. That would be about 4 p.m. I'm down if it's not raining, but if it is raining then I'm not going to drive 2 hours. =0) So it just depends on what the weather's like. However, if you want to go ahead and reschedule it, I'm all for it. =0) |
