Just wondering how often people clean their sensors. And how they do so.

I also read (I believe in the manual if I'm not mistaken) never to touch the sensor area and be careful what kind of air you blow it with.
But I've also seen that there are brushes that can be used to clean them. So I'm not sure what's the right take..

There are probably a dozen or more old threads on sensor cleaning, and there are almost as many answers as to methods of cleaning, and even more as to frequency of cleaning.
Though most camera manufacturers try to discourage "wet" cleaning, e.g. copperhill method, it's similar or identical to the method that some of the manufacturers themselves use. Blowers and/or burshes will be effective for most dust, but only wet cleaning gets the stuff that becomes stuck. Eventually, a wet cleaning may become necessary, sooner for some than for others, depending on a lot of factors.
I personally prefer to wet clean as my normal method. Though it takes practice, it is fast, the results are excellent and it is inexpensive.
