Joining my husband on business trip to Las Vegas. Any suggestions on photo outings I could do myself on three different days. No car

You can just walk up and down the strip during the day and night. I think all the casinos allow photography indoors as I walked through Venitian with a backpack/tripod, Rebel on a grip with a flash.

Some of the best stuff is night photography, especially the water fountain at Bellagio, Venetian, Caesers, Eiffel Tower at Paris to name just a few.
Here have a look at my Vegas gallery.

You'll need a tripod for sure, night shots are a must in Vegas.

It's really too bad you don't have a car. I have some shots (but not in my profile) of Red Rock Canyon that are just amazing. IMHO. I'll get some together tonight and throw them up in the profile if you'd like.

WOW so many tours! NOW I have to decide which is better bus or SUV. Has anyone ever done the Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire

I'll second REd Rock Canyon. It is a very short drive, just outside the City to the west. You might even be able to catch a tour there but a one day rental car would be worth it. Also it is a short drive out to Hoover Dam.

Don't forget the DAM!

I''ll be doing this sightseeing during the day by myself so I thought I would take a SUV or bus tours to different locations. Has anyone ever traveled from Vegas to Zion Canyon. I'm from the east so the opportunity to see some of the west is exciting. Everyone Thank you for all the info - greatly aprreciated

Are you talking about Zion National Park? I'm guessing it's about a 3 hour drive from Vegas to the park. I can tell you though you will not be disappointed if you go to Zion. Beautiful stuff.

Glad I saw this, I'm taking my wife to Vegas next week. I was wondering which is better photography, Red Rock Canyon or Valley of Fire. We are going to the Hoover Dam and think that the Valley of Fire is closer to the Dam than Red Rock Canyon. Or is Red Rock Canyon better to see and worth the drive back through town?

I loved Red Rock Canyon, and Bonnie Springs, too!

Bonnie Springs is a curious combination of a very odd little zoo and an old western town. The little town is cute to wander around in, and the shows they put on were cheesy, but entertaining.
