Ok.. the deal is that im going to ask for a camera for my birthday present but i dont need some super dooper good one. I've been browsing through peoples cams here and can someone please tell my why some cameras that have few megapixels can pull off great images but i cant seem to get it with mine? I just need some pointers what to look out for, i just need a camera thats better then the one i got, don't know what i ought to be looking out for.
Pls. dont be mean, i'm just a newbie :) |

you live in Iceland - you should be able to use a pinhole camera and pull in some ribbons. ;-)
Just kiddin! Welcome to DPC. If you have some idea of what you're looking for, take a look at the camera section and when you click on a camera you can see what users have them and what photos were taken with them.
Good luck. :) |

I'm not trying to be mean, but there are some (and a few of them are on this site) that could make great looking images with a shoebox! It's not the camera -- it's the photographer.
That said, I know your frustration -- just because a great image can be made with poor equipment doesn't mean it's the best way to learn to make great images. There will be others that can give you specific camera suggestions, but in the meantime it would help if you described what kind of photography you are most interested in.
