Has anyone used any of NG's field guides?

Also, though I doubt I'd every buy it, any idea if the NG paper is really any better than the stuff available in camera shops?

I have a few of them, Travel, birds, and landscapes. I've yet to read in depth any of them, but I'm running behind on my photography reading anyway. I flipped through birds and read some of the captions and diagrams, some very useful planning information in them if they all meet up with that one.
