Ok, so I have about $400 to spend on some lights. I was going to get stobes, but then I came across a continuous lighting system on ebay. This is the description it gives
The DynaPhosâ„¢ Three Point lighting travel kit consists of (3) complete light kits and includes everything necessary to produce professional portrait lighting either in the studio or on location using a luminous, diffused light that captures even the finest details brilliantly while allowing you to switch between high-contrast and ultra-soft lighting in seconds.
Featuring an innovative cooling design that allows you to use continuous lighting for heat sensitive subjects, DynaPhosâ„¢ light kits eliminate the possibility of blinking that is common in strobe portrait lighting
What do you think? Should I go with the continuous or stobe. Also here is a link to the ebay auction if you need more information.
Thanks everyone.

IMO, go with strobes. I just switched to strobes after using continuous and there is such a huge difference in the amount of light. I can shoot f/11 at 1/250th with my strobes.........I was shooting 1/125th at f/2.8-f/4 with my continuous...LOL I had 1750watts with my continuous, now I have Alien Bee 800's.

I bought these strobes off of ebay: ProPhotoLighting
I'm happy with them, the IR trigger didn't work with Minolta hot-shoe, but that won't be a problem for you. The large background is worthless, but the black and white are useable once you get the creases out.
The strobes are not the best quality (housing, but they work very well for the price, and I reccomend them for a beginner setup. I plan on upgrading of course, but this will do for the next year or so.

BTW, I used the strobes to take these two entries, and a couple portraits.
My wife has a few more:

I want to clarify my previous post. I have no problem with using conitunous lighting when it's done for reasons of being less expensive (ie.. using halogen work lamps), but when a choice is available, strobes will offer you much better lighting and with less heat.

JRalston made a good point about the amount of light. Pros and cons with both types. Depends on what type shooting your doing. I'm having trouble with the action shots with stobes ab800's. I'm in another learning curve and more practice is what I need. I keep trying to shoot before the strobes recycle. With continuous, I could fire off multiple shots and usually capture the one I was going for but it was hard to get the shutter speed fast enough.
The cool lights would be the way to go if you're going to go continuous.
edit: I like my bees and won't give them up.

The Alien Bees seem to be a bit pricey, what would be the difference between them and the cheaper sets sold on ebay. Keep in mind that these lights are my first ones, and I really dont know anything about shooting with strobes.
All comments have been great. Thanks.
