Not really a rant. Just disappointed that my "picked as favorites" is going the wrong way. I've been here almost three years and was so looking forward to hitting 150. Got close. Stayed at 149 for a long time and now it's down to 148. I finally have realized that I'm for the most part "boring". My photography, that is. Think I'll try to do something about my style (or lack of) this year. Wish me luck!

I have taken the liberty to view you photos and can assure you that you have many wonderful images to behold.

The fact that your images haven't been selected by a bevy of DPC members does not detract from the fact that the images are indeed quite good.

I would like some pointers on getting some good shots of the hummingbird. Looks like you have mastered it.

Thank you! :)
For the hummers, the fastest shutter speed for the light and patience, lots of patience! It also helps to cut a hole out of your screen (hubby wasn't too happy but I reattached it with velcro.) and set up your tripod about 10 inches away from them at the feeder and use the flash occasionally, bounced off the porch ceiling. Also, a cable release and keep your dog off the back porch while shooting....vibration on wood floor=blurry photo. Seriously, I've tried every combination.
I'll see if I can dig up a photo showing the cut-out. :)

Here's my cut-out. Pretty tacky!
Actually, my best shots are the outside shots.
I've got 4 feeders by my garage and I usually lurk off to the side and wait.

Thanks for the favorites boost. I'm now at 158! :)
