Not sure where was the best place to post this, but I have a photography contest coming up and I need some enlargements from my digital files done archivally- 11x 14. The closest place is ten miles away and most places would have to send them out anyways so I was wondering about ordering them online and having them sent to me instead of a photo shop. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am in the US and will have about four weeks from the announcement of accepted works to needing them framed and ready to hang for the show which really isn't a lot of time. Thank you for your input! One I have cropped to a different proportion so I was also wondering how places handle that- would they crop it to fit 11x 14 or would they fit the image to an 11x 14 sheet- leaving more space on one side?

I use winkflash and am completely satisfied with their work. To make sure I got the print i wanted, i'd creata canvas of the printer's sieze requirements and put my image in that with a white BG as fill and then cut the print once i got it.

one place...let me think...offers various grades of prints, including 'contest quality' prints that are not that much more but are supposedly hand printed and checked. I can't seem to find the place...let me get off line and go to bed and it'll come to me LOL

//www.lustrecolor.com/ ! Don't use firefox on their site - it doesn't work quite right.
to quote from their competetion prints page Printed by Master of Photography Carl Strobel, LustreColor̢۪s competition prints are the finest available. Evaluated in the lab by Carl under PPA̢۪s judging standards, his suggestions have helped many photographers boost their print scores.

Thank you for the information and taking the time to look that up for me. I will have to check them out. This is only the second competition I have entered and the place I used last time is no longer in business (local shop).
