I've been using ezprints and I have no complaints. However, I am curious what other options are out there. Who do you use and why do you prefer them?

Mpix... Incredibly fast, great quality, excellent packaging. Oh, and they're pretty cheap too. Choose Fed-Ex for $5 more and usually have them them next day if you order in the morning. |

If you're a Costco member, they have pretty good/fast/cheap service as well. You can upload from home, and pick up at the store in 1-4 hours. I've been happy with the results from the lab at my local store. |

I like Whcc.com, fast, good product, and shipping included in price.
Uploading and ordering is a little cumbersome but easy with a little experience. |

I forgot to mention, the reason I use walmart/sams for my cheap stuff is 1. pretty good quality and 2. only an hour turnaround... you can upload from your computer and within the hour it's ready for pickup... |

An easy way to get panoramic prints is to gang two images on one sheet. For example, I can stack two 6 x 18 (3:1 pano) on a single 12 x 18 print ($3 at Costco). A steel ruler and sharp art knife will take care of the rest. |

Mpix also has metallic paper (you gotta try it) and will mount the image for you. |

I love their metallic paper! I have an 11x14 of this image with metallic paper on my wall... it's amazing!

I've tried many but have mainly used Snapfish for a long time and was very happy with them, especially because they offer a 4:3 ratio print size (4x5.33" inch) and prints are only 12 cents. But then a friend got me to try the Creative Memories photo service (www.cmphotocenter.com) and they have the best color, saturation, and sharpness of any of the others I've tried. But they're twice the price of Snapfish. I'll try Mpix soon... |

I also say Mpix.... I have been using them since fall and I love them!!! They have a super fast turn around time, they are well priced, and their customer service is the best out there.
At Christmas, I ordered a print for a customer. When I got it, I noticed that the cropping was wrong. I emailed them, had a response in a few minutes and within 2 days, I had a new picture at my door - no cost!
Plus, I love that they die-cut all of their wallets. In being a professional, I noticed that my customers liked those ALOT more than the squared corners. |

Local photo store. They have the best equipment available and I can talk directly with the technician if I have some special requirements. Plus, if i need let's say a print sized 13 1/4" X 8 5/8 they'll do it. They were even nice enough to give me hints about how their equipment is calibrated so I can adjust my images.

I've had excellent luck with Walmart. Have printed several pictures in all sizes from wallet to 8x10 and they look very good.
To be fair though, I have not tried anyone else for prints. |

I use dotphoto.com for posters and for 6x4s and they are great, quick and good quality and they run specials on their prints all the time. 19c for 6x4 but were 15c and have even been as low as 9c. I make up my own wallet prints (4 frames on a 6x4 in Photoshop) so I only pay for a 6x4 which is cheaper in most places than if you need them to make the wallets for you (it is just a lens that does it on their machine). I have been using them for 4 years and their quality has just got better and better.
Dot Photo Link
I had terrible luck with Walmart, half the time their machine couldnt read my discs and I tried giving them CDs, Compact Flash Cards, JPegs and Tiffs and they messed it up every time. It helps with this type of place to have one of the staff on your side to oversee all your printing and ensure it is done to your liking.

I'll second the Costco route. They do excellent work, and you can get profiles for many of them at //www.drycreekphoto.com (be sure to mark your order "No Auto Correction"). They do glossy and lustre up to 12x18. My Costco is $0.16 for a 4x6, $0.39 for a 5x7, $1.49 for 8x10 or 8x12, and $2.99 for 11x14 or 12x18. And they are ready in an hour. Can't beat that with a stick.

Thanks everyone.
Who do you use for true panoramic printing (i.e. without doubling up multiple images per print... not that it's a bad idea... just a pain).

The easiest way is through your DPC Prints account. The only downside to those is that it's mail-order only, but there's several panorama sizes available.
Prints you order for yourself do not have to go through any review/approval process -- that's only for those you offer for public sale through the DPCP site. Just upload the print files with the new-one-step process and order prints. The large files do not count towards your portfolio space allocation, only the place-holder image the site creates during the upload. |
