I went out at dawn to "my" beach and shot this shadow, but int he end entered the one with the peeling wall. I'm fond of this, though...
I figured there'd be a million "long shadows on the ground", and the one I entered seemed more evocative to me, but it didn't do espeically well:

| If you could have gotten the long shadow to stand out more, darker maybe, then I think it would have done better. I like the esthetics of the beach better, but that is just me. |

I really like the first one.
It would have been great if you could have gotten a shadow of a bear about to attack you in there too though ;) |

Wasn't gonna happen. The light was JUST off the horizon, pretty pale, and there was a band of clouds just above the horizon, so my window of opportunity was very small, and this in the midst of a week of unrelenting cloud cover.

You've got to take what mother nature gives you. Boy do I know that. Still a nice shot but I doubt it would have scored any higher than the one you submitted. |

I'm sure it wouldn't have scored any better :-) I just kinda like it. Actually I like them both...
