For those of you who shoot Canon (Ihave the Rebel XT), what lenses would you recommend for wedding photography? I am curious to know what you carry with you when you go to shoot a wedding. Also, what do you think are some "must-have" lenses for general wedding photography? Thanks for the help in advance!

Here's a list of lenses that I am currently looking at to cover most of my needs and available price range in future:

1. EF 50mm f/1.8 II
2. EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM
3. EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM

Would this be able to suffice (I already own the kit lens too)?

The 28-135 isn't really well reviewed for image quality. You may be better served looking at the Tamron 28-75 as it is excellent (and fast at 2.8).

Wow, thanks! That looks like a pretty good lens for what I may be doing and also about the price I am looking at too. The F2.8 looks nice and looks like it has good overall image quality. Should work well in low light.

28-135IS is not a bad lens, it's just not L glass. Considering it's range and price it's a very good lens and i've been happy with it.
Below are the reviews for each from my favorite lens review site:

Are there any other lenses I should be aware of?

Must have, I would think the Canon 24-70 F2.8L would be ideal for weddings, but is costly. A good friend is a wedding photographer and swears by the Canon 50mm F1.4 (better glass and faster focus then the F1.8 and under $400)

I'd second the Tamron 28-75 or the Canon 24-70 if you can afford it, but there's also the Sigma 24-135/2.8-4.5 which is a good compromise between these two and the Canon 28-135. You might also want to look into a good wideangle lens (the Canon 10-22 or the Canon 17-40 are popular) for the occasions when you just can't get everything in frame otherwise.
