Actually, I didn't know about this because I haven't received any notice except some people emailing me and congratulating me for it. I couldn't find the page where it says POTD. Any link? What happens to a POTD? Do they advance to the monthly contest.
I tried to search for their announcement about POTD but couldn't find one. I am a newbie to betterphoto so I am totally clueless.

Hi Manny,
Congrats on POTD at BP. I just saw it. As far as I know, POTDs don't advanced automatically to the monthly contests. So I suggest you enter it into the people category for this month's contest. Now that it's a POTD, it definitely stands a fantastic chance of being picked a finalist and even winning! :) You get a free website if you win (I think).
Way to go!

Thanks for the link George. How do you access it from the main page? Is it only accessible to premium members? In other words, how does a member know which picture is chosen as POTD.

I accessed it from the site map. It's near the bottom on the right "Photo of the Day Archives" under the heading Free Photography Newsletters.
I found out (possibly like nards did?) by subscribing to the PoTD email list. :)
