The results for the 'Blue II' challenge have been recalculated, as the image formerly in 394th place has been disqualified for not providing the original and complete editing steps when requested to do so.

DQing 394th place does me no good. Please find a reason to DQ pictures above 381st place. Thank you for your diligence. |

LOL! Too funny. By the way, your picture was much better than your final position indicates. |

394 Didn't do me any good either. Anyone else get one of YourBuddyFlo's steller reviews? Seems that person isn't here to make any friends. I just read over 100 comments submitted by YBF during the blue challenge and he/she didn't have much nice to say. Kind of brass for someone who hasn't entered a challenge yet? I know everyone is entitled to speak their mind. But caution should be rendered when speaking an empty mind. |

YourBuddyFlo and yourbuddyjhawk are my last two during voting... Strange naming coincidence. |

I am procrastinating getting ready for a meeting, so I checked User Profiles and there are 4 listings starting "yourbuddy ...", they look suspiciously like the same kid. I think DPC should have a system in place to flag a user registering multiple times, especially on the same day. People like this don't seem to be here to learn.

I would guess you could report possible account duplications to the site council. I'm not sure how you or the council can distinguish legitimate accounts from duplicate accounts though. |

There are ways.. IP tracing for one... not 100% accurate, but it could help flag potential duplicate accounts. |

Thanks Karen, I find that I too often point out problems and complain, but fail to resolve them.

after reading about all the other names i checked the comments on my photo and that yourbuddyhawk gave me a really good comment after he first said it lacked the aspects to make it interesting with the yourbuddyflo name, makes no sense, his IP address should be blocked from the site. |

also his votes should be removed from the challenge under all his names, Going by his comments on some of the photos i would say he didn't vote fair. |

Brings up an interesting point... recently we had a thread about votes being removed if the image gets a DQ and you have voted barely 20%. If a DQ puts you below 20% minimum, your votes are here to stay.
This is a completely different beast: Assuming (nobody is guilty until proven) that a user had multiple accounts, woulr his/her expulsion nullify their votes? If yes, for which challenge(s)? That potentially changes the whole ordering...
I would recommend that we do not touch their votes. No matter how unfair to others their votes happened to be, it would be even more unfair to change the outcome of the challenge by removing their votes.
Only their entries should be DQd and that's it.
Edit to add: I did not enter the "Blue II" challenge, so I do not have a personal/subjective opinion on this one.

That would open the door to abuse of the system. An individual could go to the public library and register multiple accounts and vote however they wanted with impunity. Images are sometimes DQ'd weeks after a challenge changing the outcome--why shouldn't illegal votes be thrown out whenever they're discovered? |

this person seems to be a troll rather than actual contestant. And he hasn't entered the contest so DQ wont work to prevent him from doing it again next week. nothing changes as far as the vote count goes if you erase everyone of his votes, it would be like he never voted in the first place. However because of mulitple accounts his voting could effect someone if he only voted for half the photos in one contest and all of them in others. Best to just let this one slide, figure out who it is and ban them from the site for a few months. |

He hasn't entered any challenge under those names, but he could have entered under his original account, nor can we know if he voted everything the same value. So it probably will make a difference to remove his votes. |

He did enter a challenge (current challenge), as he has comments received that do not show up.
And yes, while this can lead to system abuse, if the voting has finished without him/her being discovered by anti-troll algorithm, and if the results were tallied, there is no need to recalculate and possibly change the outcome of the challenge. DQs are allright as all participants get either the same position or get bumped up.
Why should someone get bumped down in a challenge because someone was successfully trolling?

Your phrasing ignores the fact that for someone to "get bumped down" someone else gets "bumped up" Since the trolls votes can affect someone's placement in either direction, why shouldn't they be discounted? |

They should be removed during the calculation at rollover. They should not be removed post-festum.
Would you like to win a ribbon, and then lose it 2 weeks later (not because you did something wrong and get DQd) just because someone who was trolling scored your image higher than of a photo below you.
They were trolling to affect their own score (assumption) so if they get DQd in the process, their votes should not affect anyone else. |

So, if I really want to "win" a ribbon I should enlist an army of trolls whose accounts will be nullified but not their votes? |

Can someone clarify this please?
1) If someone gets DQ'd does that automatically mean that the VOTES they cast get tossed out? Why would their votes go away?
2) Based on the "assumption" presented above by srdanz, if someone was trolling using multiple accounts the multiple accounts have impacted scores of others - even IF (see 1 above) the trollee (new word) is DQ'd. In other words, the DQ doesn't do anything about the multiple account bogus votes.
I could be missing something obvious here...sorry if I have. ;^)
