Yes, I know its not digital but I'm sure many of you who've ever been involved in medium format have owned/used one at some point. Here's the deal, I was given one for free that is in good condition, however the self timer has jammed the shutter. Apparently Yashica warns never to set the self timer with the flash setting in the M mode (this was made in the days of flashbulbs so it has a selector switch) or it could cause damage ie jamming the self timer. Apparently the self timer spring serves dual duty to operate the shutter and if you jam it the shutter jams. I've searched the hell out of google and found tons of people with the same problem as me, but no solution. Can any of you medium format people give me a hand?
Thanks

I've got a 124G, and am aware of that issue, but I haven't had any problems with it jamming up. My dad had a look at my camera once and observed "the self timer doesn't work" - I looked later and realised that the flash switch had moved to M, when I moved it back to X the self timer was fine again, no jamming or anything. So I don't have a solution either.

What I *do* have is a set of seven exploded-view diagrams of the 124G (found them via Google when I was trying to work out how to install a Beattie Intenscreen) - but I can't remember where I got them and can't find them again. If you are feeling brave enough to open up your camera and poke around, then let me know and I can email the diagrams to you. (Standard disclaimer on the site where I found them applies: Having a set of exploded view diagrams doesn't make you a camera repair person!)

The other idea would be to take it to someone who is a qualified repair person, they might be able to fix it?
