Woooooooo! Just got home after driving through Pittsburgh. With all the fireworks & horn honking, it was quite a fun ride!

Quick! Check out the home page of The Post-Gazette -- practically every photo is by my brother from the Super Bowl!

I talked to him earlier today -- sounded like he was having a blast!

Oh man, the riot in Oakland was insane. I wish I had a better camera, my pictures didn't come out at all. But being there at the overturned car, the riot police riding out on horses....that was awesome.

Go Stillers. w0o!

I've gotten a lot of the pep rally pictures, and I'm planning on going to the parade tomorrow for more. Should be fun!

There were a few calls, and no-calls, that could have been better. But that didn't change the outcome of the game. I thought both teams were tight and played a little bit sloppy at times, both qb's made some bad decisions. Seattle's clock management was definitely below par for a championship game. Pittsburgh was the better team on that given Sunday.

I was rooting for the Steelers so I'm happy about that one, but I'm also very happy for the upstart Georgetown Hoyas who did a number on the No. 9 Pitt Panthers.

Seattles new poster child!

Hey, I'm a Seahawk fan and would love to blame the refs. They certainly cost us to some extent.

But the fact is the Seahawks played very tight and I was dissapointed. Steven's with three dropped passes! Jackson running routes so close to the sideline he was forced out on two catches near the endzone. Two missed field goals. Clock management in the final quarter. We basiclly sucked compared to how we played the entire season.

I thought the Steelers played like crap also. They were lucky not to be behind by 14 going into the half as they had zero offense. But in the end they took advantage when we made mistakes and that is the team who normally wins.

So contgtats Steelers.

In casse you did not notice I was giving credit where credit was due. Now be a good winner and be gracious.

lol....I agree they choked at my job all the seahawk fans are complainging about the refs, I think the refs did a very good job, what were the seahawks thinking about wasting all that time right before the half, and then again at the end..

it was an awesome game though, I thought the half time show sucked tough

According to the announcers, neither team was very good. The Steeler's just came up with big plays at opportune moments. In other words, the Steeler's messed up the least.

Anyone got the game stats on interceptions?

Steelers may have played poorly....but Seattle just isn't very good. That false sense of hope from playing that weak schedule caught up to them!

The Big Nasty D...was in control!

Not that your anaylsis is not clearheaded and without prejudice but thought people might find this interesting by a neutral party:

How the referees handed Pittsburgh the Super Bowl
02/06/2006 07:41:25 PM · #45
The only call they mentioned in that article is the tackling "low block" call -- that was a bad call...everything else is BS...

The pass interference -- I don't care where you're from or what team you root for -- that was pass interference.

The Roethlisberger touchdown -- It was ruled a TD on the field -- in order to overturn, there needs to be IRREFUTABLE (spelling?) evidence. there was not, the call HAD to stand.

The 'phantom' holding -- he was holding ALL GAME -- they were lucky to only be called once or twice -- I was screaming at the refs the whole drive, we were being held and held and held.

--

Just accept it -- both teams choked -- the Steelers managed to take the right opportunities and put points on the board.

The only thing that was good in the game was the Steeler's defense...they won the game.

Not to mention, the author of that 'article' (if you can call it that) is a bengals fan -- of course he wants to make the Steelers look bad.
02/06/2006 07:42:28 PM · #47
Wow....written by a whinning Bengals fan. Even the Bengals are better than Seattle. They just plain stink...nothing more...nothing less. Highest scoring offense...my ass!

How can you say Seattle isn't very good? They were playing in the Superbowl, weren't they? Yes, the Steelers won, no need to rub it anymore in our face.
02/06/2006 07:48:44 PM · #49
The NFC is weak....the Steelers played a terrible game and still won 21-10. Seattle was over-rated!

Hey, relax guys. I was only trying to take a controversial issue and have it looked at from a non-biased perspective, which we are not.

The NFL has a problem. Officating has gotten horrible. Every team, at one time or another, including yours, has gotten crapped on by the outright horrible calls all season. It especially should not happen at the Superbowl where we are suposed to see the best refs. Unless they fix it football will become more of a joke each year. Less and less outcomes will be decided by who is the best team as more and more are decdied by which team gets the shaft that particular Sunday.

Just an opinon. If you wnat to take it as whining fine, but overall the game sucked and the NFL is going to lose more and more market share.
