Amazing photos, I love the film ones. Great saturation and tones, great exposure on them also.
Really makes me want to try out medium format, but I couldn't make nearly as great photos as yours. |

Love the photos! The colours are gorgeous and smooth. Love the egret and the frog one.
If you ever want to give away that camera, just remember I said it first. :-)

You got some nice shots there, Brent. Makes me nostalgic for my old 4x5 transparencies... But NOT for the sheer, raw effort of lugging that gear into the wilderness. Oddly, I did very little medium format shooting, and none of it "personal". We had a Mamiya RB67, and for a little while a Hasselblad, but the wife used those mostly.
Robt.

I *adore* the reptiles and amphibians! Highly underrated subjects for photography.
I'll echo the "thanks for sharing" - simply delightful! |

Hey Brent. Why the sudden flurry of images posted on DPC? Just curious cuz we used to rarely see your nice images posted here. |

Just curious, did you scan these in yourself and if so what type of scanner you used? |

Yes, with a Nikon Coolscan 8000 ED.
All images are originally scanned @ 4000 dpi.

i am currently using the nikon coolscan 8000 ED to scan a bunch of 6x7 chromes of walls I shot in mexico, for a project of a bunch of 16x20 prints. I'm having a little difficulty getting the film perfectly flat though, like the top and bottom of the frame is slightly soft on my 6 inch proof prints, yet the middle of the frame is sharp.
any tips for scanning with that scanner?
a small res example is here, if you look closely at the grey square box in the top right you might be able to see what I mean. It's obviously more evident in the print.

edit- dont mean to hijack the thread, just see if you have any tips real quick.

I've been looking at picking up the glass mount carrier for exactly this reason. Set a book on the slide for a couple of days to flatten it. (leave it in a sleave)
