Was out playing some today...despite the rain and all that. The clouds were awesome over the city (Pittsburgh).
Then I headed down to Heinz Field to see what was going on -- there were a lot of people there. I was going to try and get something for the motion challenge, but scratched the idea.
Let me know what you think...Thanks!
EDIT:
OK...here's a third... :D

*LOL* the first one reminds me on that scene in "independence day" because of the amazing sky over the city.
the second could be cool for motion panning, if the fore and background was not so disgusting ;P

I really like the first one alot. the clouds are really menacing and the composition is excellent, seeing as it leads your right into the photo. My suggestion however would make it black and white. The reason is that color does not play much of a role in the photo. The shapes, textures, and composition are what makes it interesting. All of these would be shown better in black and white, since there would be no distracting color.
Just my two cents.
Charles
PS: i just posted a thread titled "first attempt at studio style shooting" and i would also appreciate any comments :) |

The first shot is fantastic. That sky is just incredible and the composition really leads the eye into the frame. Is it abit angled to the left though? (just being annoying here...)
Great capture! |

Hmm. did that second one have radial blur on it? obviously trying to obscure something. |

No radial blur...just panning...it's probably cause it was taken at like 12mm or so.
Is it angled to the left? I thought it was angled to the right, so I rotated it a bit to the left...man that's one thing I just can never get right.

I like those. The clouds and the lighting look very cool.
You ever have anybody stop and turn around and come whine at you for taking a picture of their car with panning? |

No, I haven't...although I don't think I'm the most 'approachable' person. I usually stare at the ground when I walk and just look all pissed off at the world -- people usually stay away from me. If I notice someone getting mad, I'll usually just make and hold eye contact and just look like the most pissed off dude they've ever seen or like I'm a little bit crazy. I know, it sounds weird, but really, people leave me alone.

Both pics out of the Tokina? I followed some of your saga with the lens, and still decided to order one yesterday.

Heh, glad that works for you.
I kinda figured they were suspicious of me because of my black sweater and jacket, gloves and ridebmx beanie, and being night and all.. who knows |

hrmm...they're not there because I think they lose a lot when sized down to 640 pixels...there's a big difference between 640 and 740 in my opinion...and unfortunately for all three of these, they just didn't look right.
