I'm looking into purchasing a light reflector for outdoor band photography. Anyone have any comments about them? Do they work well?

Do the work? Absolutely. I use reflectors for portraits (one or two people at most) all the time.

My only concern would be "how big is the band?" I mean, you may need multiple reflectors in order to light all of the band members....

They not only work, they are essential for outdoor portraits in many conditions. Try picking up a $5 silver reflective winshield visor thingy just to play with. White matboard works as well.

For a whole band, i'd imagine you'd need many reflectors, or a lightpanel instead.
