| Just wondering if anyone knows of any surf competitions in Hawaii this week?... Specifically on Oahu? |

Not quite sure, but during this time of year the waves on the north shore get insanely large. I would say your best bet would be to just drive out there and be ready to shoot. Also make sure your go quite early, because Kamehameha highway is only 2 lanes, and this time of year everybody wants to go out there to see the waves.

Thanks, I'm going to be staying close to the beaches (North Shore)so driving wont be an issue.. but the heads up about being out there early is noted .. beat the rush as it were ;)

| Well driving may be an issue, because it can take up to an several hours to go like 3-5 miles....depending on how big the waves are. Larger = more traffic. Renting a moped/motorcycle is a great way to buzz thru the mass trafic on big wave days. I would suggest going to sunset and pipeline beaches to catch the surfers. Also Waimeha Bay is just plain beautiful and with the big waves a can't miss photo op. |

Okay now that is just exciting... the idea of renting a moped!!!!! (never been on one) .. umm may be frightening to anyone else on the road tho... *blink*
Excited all over again *lol* I appreciate the suggestions for the beaches as well.. I have absolutely no agenda other than sitting on the beach and taking pictures.. should be just what the doctor ordered :)
