Me and smartypants got a new toy today. It's actually, technically, Andrea's lens, but we share everything. Look for some new entries under this lens soon. She's waiting for some good light to go to the ponds and hunt birds and other critters.

I couldn't wait and did some driveway shooting tonight. The following pic was handheld at 80 meters, followed by a 100% crop:



Because the light was getting low outside, I had to shoot this at ISO 800, but with a shutter of 1/250 and handheld, I'm pretty encouraged!

Ahhh, it has arrived! You Andrea's gonna have a great time with that one!
BTW, obviously you're undercaffeinated if you can get off a 640mm effective FL shot at 1/250, LOL.

You both are going to love it. If you like wildlife and candid shots you will probably use it more than your other lenses. I use my lower end Tamron 200-500 so much I'm considering spending the big (make the BIG) bucks for a Nikon 500mm F4. Just have to figure out what the wife will counter with and if we can afford both. LOL.
