I do not know what "Advanced Editing " Means ??? I do not have Photo Shop & do not edit my photos more than brightness, color, contrast. Am I making a mistake entering a challenge with that criteria ??

Advanced editing means that you must conform to the advanced editing rules. It'd be a good idea to take a look at those before you enter. The edits you describe sound like they are fine, though.

neither do we!

just kidding.

there are two different rulesets here at DPC. 'basic' applies mostly to open challenges. 'advanced' applies mostly to member challenges (there are exceptions, though, so be sure you check.)

you can read the differences between the two here:

You can do a lot with just the edits you mention. If you have a shot that you feel really fits the challenge, go for it. You might get some comments that suggest ways to improve the shot, and many of those might inform you of edits you could consider that fall outside your current repertoire. That's the beauty of entering the Advanced challenges, it will help you to expand your editing horizons :-)
