The 20D is SO much better on noise than what you've been using that you can work around it by using a MUCH wider field of view (camera further back from where you will pose or a wider zoom) and thus attain a lot more DOF at a given f/stop; then you can crop to best advantage. At ISO 100 the 20D will allow you to crop out to 1/4 the image area with results till superior to what you are used to sharpness-wise.
