I shot this wedding several months ago, and the bride has long since gotten the final product, and, thank goodness, was very pleased with the results.

I learned about Microsoft's "Photo Story 3" after seeing someone else use it here recently, so I've been playing with it a bit.

Here is the result.

It's a bit long (a little over 5 minutes), but I'm not holding a gun to anyone's head to make you watch it all :)

I would appreciate any comments on the shots, etc. These folks were a joy to work with, especially considering it was the first wedding I've ever shot. I've already booked a couple more weddings just from referrals from them!

I loved it. I can't believe you did all of that with Photo Story. Great job. They look like a fun couple and family.

VERY very nice Alan. The photos were great and the compilation wonderful!

p.s. love the Steeler garter belt!

...and you managed to include a sports image in it too :-) Nice job. The speed was right on, sometimes the panning motion can be a bit taxing. I use mediashow from cyberlink and memoriestotv when I want panning effects.

Many thanks!!

Photo Story is a LOT of fun... and it's free! I almost immediately downloaded a plug-in (for $19) that allows you to burn these to DVD (so they can be viewed on a regular DVD player). I made a DVD of this one, which I plan to send to the couple.

They will love it and will be so surprised. I forgot to say before, I love the clarity of your images and your lighting. It is a beautiful thing to see.

Very autistic. Was that a typo? ;)
No b&w? Otherwise very nice.
the music? where is that from?

You gonna go to the Super Bowl?

K-Mart sucks. Definitely sucks. Time for Wapner.

I'm not a huge B&W fan in most instances... at least not for this exercise anyhow. I know it's done all the time, but I think mixing B&W & color in a show like this would have created awkward transitions. At least in my opinion.

The music is generated on the fly by Photo Story. You can set it to use an .mp3, or it can create a music file, with many options. I obviously didn't put a lot of thought into the choice of music, but I thought it was cool that it would basically compose something on the fly, and make it the appropriate amount of time that the slide show lasts.

No, I shant be going to the Big Game. My brother will represent the family there, though.
