For my birthday last May (I've been procrastinating BIG TIME) I got the books Real World Photoshop CS or Adobe Photoshop CS One on One
The time has finally come for me to really buckle down and work on my PS editing skills. I'm not a complete beginner, I've done some clean up and color correection work professionally in the past (Photoshop 4) but I definately am not up to speed on the new fangled features and workflows. Anyone have a recomendation of which of these 2 books would be best to start out with? I actually have CS2 now but I believe the books will still apply.
Thanks in advance :) |

Oh, I thought you were asking which to buy...you already have both and are asking which to read...I'm stupid.

I've actually have a copy of this book sitting beside me right now, have used it and agree it is very good.
However, the only real way to learn Photoshop(or any piece of software) is to plunge right in and work with it. Books only give you introduction and guidance. There are also tons of decent online PS tutorials and resources that are good.
If it means anything to you, I had PS7 on my computer for 7 months before I finally got up the gumption to finally learn it. I had another editor back then that was easier for me to use.
