I made a slideshow yesterday that I want to put up on my weddings section of my website. I have it done, the only thing I have to do is get the music track fixed. It has some glitches in it, and I want to make sure it's perfect before I post it on the site.

I want to see what you guys think... if there is anything that needs a fixin, please let me know. Here is the show

Thanks,
Lor

I like it. How do you plan to include it on your website?

I'm interested in knowing how too. I'm website building ignorant and am currently trying to make my first website but I'm using site building software so it takes the guesswork out of the basics. I love your idea though and think it would be a fun thing to do for portraits also.

Just wondering if you could be specific for those of us that are website challenged :)

Looks pretty good. I've been using ProShow Gold for awhile now and keep thinking I want to get Presenter in order to put slideshows on the web. My only downside has been, where to host the slideshow since my main site is smugmug and it can't host the slideshow.

I bought a program called ProShow Gold... it was WELL worth the $70!!! There are options on there for you to make a slideshow for the web. All I did was follow the instructions on it and pasted the html code in my website. I also had to upload the file to my FTP server, but that isn't very hard.

If you are inetersted in a program like this, I would say download the trial version and see what you can do. I tried the trial version, and within an hour of downloading it, I bought the software. It's simple to use... I highly recommend it!

I only have PSG, and I have the option to make web shows. Is yours an older version? Maybe you could look into getting an upgrade. I have my own domain, so hosting isn't an issue for me. I have my site through 1and1, and I am very very happy with them!

Lorrie, you have many lovely photos on that slideshow. I like the way you chose to zoom in/pan on just some of them - keeps it interesting without going over the top. Your choice of music was very suitable. A jolly nice show all around!

Since you did ask, let me tell you about my preferences in slideshows in general. YOURS has some of the features that I look for, but not all.

I like to have some idea of progression, i.e. how far along we are in the show - either via a bar, or via numbers (like 14 of 35). I like BIG photos (I don't know what it is called when the page sizes itself to your monitor to fit).
It must have navigation buttons and I like to be able to choose the speed of each frame. I like the option of seeing all the thumbnails as a page. Music MUST be optional.

Very nice. I have a suggestion though.

In the Firefox browser it asks to install a plugin. It ends up being a manual plug-in and is unsigned at that.

Perhaps, if you are able to do exports in Proshow Gold, you should also include other ways to get to the slideshow. I'm not sure if and what it supports as far as exporting slideshows, but SWF (macromedia Flash) is usually standard or perhaps a video file output such as Quicktime or Windows Media.

Just want to make sure you are able to get the presentation to as wide an audience as possible. :-)

Fantastic slideshow and some really good photos, too. I like it a lot. I do agree with previous comments that music must be optional. I also felt it was just a bit too long ... I'm an impatient person I guess :)

I can't view it at all. I think Windows thinks the plugin looks stetchy, so it automatically blocks it for me.

Same here (Mac OS X, v. 10.4.4, Safari 2.0.3). QuickTime would be probably be the most universal format.
