| Don't believe it. I've entered shots with flowers twice, and they were both among my worst scores ever. |

Sheesh... 4.9 is one of your worst scores ever! Not that long ago that would have been one of my best scores ever! LOL :-)

4.9 would be awesome compared to the score my Signs entry is getting. Coming a tad close to brown with that one.

It keeps getting better.
My experience is that erly in the morning I get low Votes but later in the day they get higher. The only poor thing about it is that I get more Votes in the morning.

Naaah, they were really the whole point of the shot I had in mind, othewise it would have been just a shot of a girl in an "forest". Not to worry, I have just put it on hold for a while, am definately going to try that shot some later time when it would fit the challenge. Anybody wanna have a "forest" challenge next ;)
Anyway, sorry, off topic in this thread so not a peep more out of me on the subject. Hope you all do well in the challenge :D |

Honestly, I prefer a low score w/ negative comments to a low score w/ positive comments -
Negative comments at least acknowledge that there is room for improvement, and perhaps are specific enough to make use of -
Positive comments on a low-scoring image can be comforting, but when I've gotten stuck with a 5.2 and not really known why (as all the comments are supportive), it's mostly just frustrating.
I have been known to occasionally leave a positive comment on an image I didn't even really like, because I just couldn't be bothered to go more in-depth. Maybe the concept is good or the timing is clever, but there's just so much other stuff going on that I don't like that it's not even worth getting into it.
So maybe the negative comments are a good sign? :)

Ok, I have a very stupid suggestion. I want a challenge where the photographers ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PHOTOGRAPH THEIR CATS!!!! LOL.
I'm not a cat hater. But it seems that someone plugs in a picture of their cat in EVERY SINGLE CHALLENGE. I wonder, was there one in the past Nude challenges? ha, ah

Wonder if it is maybe because the thumbnail is interresting.
I somtimes look at the thumbnail before I vote and if I see something interresting I look at the big picture.

I do that too. I usually scan through everything when voting starts to get an idea of which images are going to be the most competitive. It does seem that many times things that look good in thumbnail aren't so spectacular when you see the full detail |

Just started looking at the entries and voted about 1/2, great shots guys!
I shot for the challenge, but wasn't happy with the shots so planned to reshoot..... but lost a day out of town and didn't get a chance to shoot it again.
This was my fav of the attempt and though I wasn't 100% happy with it for the challenge, I stilled liked it in general.
My next great shot is submitted in wildlife, so I'm cool with missing this one.

Please finish voting.
It is just unfair to vote only for a part of the challenge.
It makes things uneven, not compareable, unfair!

I just watched my score tumble .3 in the last 4 hours. I can't take any more of it, I'm going to bed. And from one of my strongest starts in history to a below personal average score. Phoey.
