| My profile says I've made 9 comments and 12 are helpful... how is that possible? Plus I only count 7 when I goto the helpful link. |

Some helpful must be in a currently running challenge. The comment stats are not all updated in real time.
edit: and links from your profile will not show you those from currently running challenges.

You've made at least one comment on your own shot (after the challenge). Those are never counted as helpful.

yes, but I have more HELPFUL comments that comments made and my comment on my own picture shows up in the "made" list |

No, it's that the different stats are updated at different times. The number of helpful comments seems to be updated regularly (daily? real time?) but the others on a weekly basis.
I made some comments in the challenge that was open for voting when I joined, and these were marked helpful - so for several days my stats said I'd made 0 comments, and 9 of them were helpful. |

Right, helpful comments are shown as/when they are ticked, but the total number of comments is only updated weekly.

It's also possible that you've made comments on some images that are currently hidden. With the 'Best of 2005' and 'Freestudy X' challenges currently going on some people have hidden portfolio images temporarily.

Aside from a comment I made today the last comment I made was on 01/16/2006
I have not commented on any challenge entries. I don't comment very often so really, it's not a matter of not enough time passing.
The numbers appear to be just plain wrong. (Gosh I've never fought so hard to be considered "less helpful" :P ) |

I like that I'm uber helpful but I can't imageine I'm the only one whos profile has this issue. |
