| I just purchased a 20d in order to replace my Olympus E-300 because it was very prone to camera shake, also,to noise at ISO400 and above..however, I've only owned the Canon for a week, tried some macro shots on white background and find a jagged vertial line running down the right side of every image, used two different lenses against object on white bg and all have same line which looks like a crack..camera goes back tomorrow...tried cleaning sensor, but didn't help. cannot be lens because used two different lenses...must be a problem with prism or hairline crack in mirror..grrrrr...I want my evolt back! |

| If it makes you feel better, I am on my 3rd Canon SLR (first 2 were film), and I've never had a problem with any camera, lens, flash, or accessory. They really do make good stuff. Keep your chin up |

I've had a couple of issues (my 20D is not that old) but so far Canon have been very reasonable about the problems. Hopefully I will be able to say that they returned the camera quite quickly soon!

Oh so I'm not the only one having the shake problem with the E-300. I thought I was doing something wrong. |

Good news! When I brought it back to Hunt's camera store today, the owner said it seemed to be a rare sensor problem..gave me a new body and now all is well! I did learn something to share with others about this experience: if you purchase a new camera, take a group of images with something small against a white background, any sensor issues will show up as jagged lines in the images..I had no idea anything was wrong for a week, until I shot some white macros and then switched lenses, tried some white background images using a poker chip as subject and found the jagged vertical line, barely visible, in every image..when I looked on computer, they were VERY visible...the first thing I did with the replacement was shoot some shots against a white bg in the store and they looked good...thanks for all your comments and support..will soon post some images from new camera.
