There should be a section in forums where we can post contests that we've found. Ya know, give the DPC'ers a little advantage in finding and entering contests ;-)

I believe this was suggested awhile back. Just something else on the "to-do" list.
I would love a forum dedicated to contests (and exhibits).

The administrators (Drew and Langdon) are very reluctant to add forum folders unless there is strong evidence that there will be enough volume to warrant it. I had to push Drew pretty hard, for example, to get Out & About created. The idea is that they don't want the number of folders getting out of control.
Feel free to post contests found to the Photography Discussion folder. If we see, over a sustained period, that the number of threads is enough to warrant a folder, we can certainly revisit the issue.

I definitely understand the desire to keep forum folders to a minimum.
Edit: I decided to add a page for it on my site. Since I post a lot, maybe the link in my signature will help a few find contests. If anyone has found any contests, feel free to PM or e-mail me.

Sounds like something that could go on the wiki mentioned recently.
(edit: at least those that are periodical, and not one-time contests)

(Speaking as admin of the wiki): That would certainly be welcome. By putting [[Category:Contests]] at the bottom of the article, the site will create that category and automatically add the article to it. Once can then browse a list of all articles in that catefory from the main category page.

Three Rivers Arts Festival This program offers artists with little or no experience in exhibiting in festivals the opportunity to use the Three Rivers Arts Festival as a stepping stone to a future in fine arts and craft shows. Eligible artists are residents of PA that are in the beginning stages of building a career as a market artist and have less than two years experience in the market circuit. This program was started to support the growth and longevity of fine arts in Pittsburgh with a special devotion to bringing new art forms to the Festival. Emerging Artist scholarships consist of the booth fee ($380.00) and a 10' X 10' tent during the show. The website ContestGuru.com is maintained by dpc'er contestguru. There is a page for photography contests.

I'd also like to suggest Google Alerts. I have set up a few alerts to notify me when contests or call for entries are found. It's been very helpful.
