Ok Here's roughly my computer.
MTB Asus P5LD2
CPU Intel 630 (3.0Ghz Hyper threading 2MB l2 cache)
1024 MB ddr533
Saphhire Radeon X800GT 256Mb

Here's the problem. I'm using Ulead videostudio 9 to capture, edit and re-encode videos. My video card is supposed to have a hardware MPEG encoder built-in but still ulead will use the CPU to do it and it take so much time just to export a 8 minutes clip. How can I use this ressource to shorten the encode time?

I know this may not be a big help but this is what ATI says

" VideoShader HD is a key feature of the video processing engine that allows it to tap into the power of the programmable pixel shader units of the Radeon X800 3D core. This allows shaders to be used to accelerate many different video processing tasks, including noise removal (VideoSoap), de-blocking (FullStream), adaptive de-interlacing, frame rate conversion, color space conversion, and much more. VideoShader HD also provides the flexibility required to support all of the latest video formats, including MPEG1/2/4, Real, DivX, and WMV9 "

I guess you have to use the supplied software to get to the user programming features for the Video Shadder that takes the load off the CPU but I dont know how to do that since I use a different video card but I will continue the hunt and will try to post back later.

Best Regards
