From Plugin Newsletter...
Kodak is giving away the standard version (a $50 value) of one of their
three Photoshop plugins (for Win/Mac). You can choose between Digital
GEM, Digital ROC and Digital SHO. You have to provide your name and
email address to receive one of the mentioned plugins. This offer expires
at the end of January.
Digital ROC is nice for color correcting scanned photos, but less
useful for digital photos. Digital SHO lets you brighten up photos, but
there are other tools that do a better job. So personally I would choose
Digital GEM, because it offers a special and effective method for noise
reduction, which can't be found anywhere else. For more information
about these plugins please go to www.asf.com

you spoke too soon...... from my Kodak registration email
"Decide which one of the following plug-ins you want to receive free:
DIGITAL GEM
DIGITAL ROC
DIGITAL SHO
Launch your editing application (PHOTOSHOP or compatible) and open an image file. From the "Filters" menu, select the Kodak plug-in filter you’ve chosen. Click the "Buy / Update" button at the top of the plug-in dialog window, and then click the "Purchase Online" button which will display the Software Delivery Wizard. This wizard will walk you through the steps needed to register your new software through our secure ecommerce store. Completing your registration will unlock the plug-in and disable the "Watermarking" feature. Copy & paste your coupon code given below into the "Coupon" field of the "Personal Information" screen during the registration process. (Note: You will not need to provide your credit card number and you will not be charged. You are restricted to using this code only once)"
Looks to me that you can get it free.

I have had Digital Gem v 1.0 on my machine for quite a while. It is a pretty nigty noise-reduction program that lets you so noise reduction separately in shadows and in highlights in one pass. I prefer Neat Image, BUT it's true you can get this one for free right now.
Those of you who wish to play around with noise reduction but don't want to fork out $ for it, give this one a try!

I second this -> ROC is like magic for some scanned images. I use ROC via Nikon Scan software for my neg scanner and am still amazed at what it can do. I would see little use for this in digital files since you are not dealing with faded slides e.t.c. |

The standard version only works with 8-bit images...to work with 16-bit images you need the Pro version which is not free. Not bad for a free product though I prefer Noise Ninja... |

They must have been bombarded.....
"Please note that it is no longer possible to register for the free or discounted ADC Plug-ins. Kodak apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of the withdrawal of this offer." |

It is working now - I was able to get the freebie.
I don't know if they still let you register, but if you already have your software and code, the coupon has become valid again. |

I use the Kodak GEM 2.0 noise reduction plugin and it works very well. A "poor man's" NI. |
