Just noticed a weird directory with one file on one of my drives. The directory was numeric, and the file was:

mrtstub.exe

Norton doesn't see anything wrong, and there's nothing up about it on that site or Grisoft.

But a search in google suggests its malware (at least as a process). It wasn't running on my machine but I just deleted the file. Anyone know anything about it?

Thanks in advance.

I saw what you were talking about on google. I'm not familiar with it, but I would suggest lavasoft's adaware for catching embedded nasties. I use it all the time (free version) and it works pretty good. It doesn't catch everything, but then again nothing will. I personally have moved away from NAV in favor of Trend Micros AV software. I did a system update on our LAN at work and at home. Trend Micro found a lot of stuff Norton "overlooked".

My $0.02 USD.

Try ewido suite, or a-squared. Those are two great programs.
