I just found this and thought some of you may want it:
//www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/raw.mspx
It allows the Windows viewer to display RAW files. As of Jan. 4, it now can read Canon 5d and Nikon D2x.
Enjoy! |

Thats great...I'll have to download it when I get home. Hopefully it will be a quicker way to view raw then Nikon picture project. That program is such a pain when it comes to browsing through raw files. |

Yeah, this is awesome. The images are a little slow to load, but it looks just like the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (it is a separate program) and the thumbnailer feature is so useful. |

It's useful but I believe there is still an issue with locking of TIFF files if you browse using this (it's possible this has been fixed). If this is an issue for you, then google it and see if the fix for this has been provided. |

I've been using this for about 4-5 months since it first came out! It definately works well (though a tad slow) but better than having to load Rawshooter or similar to see what your thumbnails are! |

That page says, "It also includes fixes for a number of known issues in the original release of the software, including the TIFF file locking issue. In addition, there is a new Save As button."
I guess it's been fixed...?
