I know this info has to be entered (ISO, Fstop, etc) but how come we can't view it on the entries? Can we? Am I missing something?

It would be nice, as a learning tool, to know what actual settings correspond to what camera settings. I think it's the one thing I truly lack is the knowledge/experience to determine, just from looking at the light/weather/sky what camera settings are about right.

Like I said, are the settings not viewable for us, or am I missing something? :)

i don't think there is a way to view them during the challenge.

No image details are visible during voting (other than title of course). They appear afterwards (if the photog entered anything).

Yeah, not viewable during the challenge. But if the photographer entered it, you can go back and view it afterwards.

Which, on a related note, reminds me of how much I wish that information was required for challenge entries. It's so beneficial for amateurs, and anyone wishing to attempt something similar for a learning experience. But it seems like it's the experienced, regular high scorers who are most likely to skip that. :(

I see what you mean because on Ursula's "winter blues" that info is not there but it is there on the other ribbon winners in that challenge.

Well I'm looking at the backlighting winners, right, and I thought near where it says the camera and lens, it would say the fstop, iso, shutter speed. But it don't! For some reason I thought that the info we enter on challenge entries is what becomes visible in that space once the challenge is over. Or, even on non-challenge entries.

Isn't it required on a challenge entry to enter the camera settings? I don't mean in the description box, or photog comments box...

Sorry about that. I'm a lazy bum when it comes to entering info (much to the General's annoyance).

I will go fill it in now.

Yeah, and on a few others (Red Rock, etc) but not on all of them.

Sorry I didn't look at enough to realize it is prolly a glitch!

Forget this entire thread :)

I hate it when people don't put the info in, both the technical info and the details field. How hard is it to share a little bit about how you got the image? It takes no time at all. Lately, I've even been trying to go back and add the info to my non-challenge portfolio items. It's so simple, but can be so helpful to the people who look at your image. You don't have to give away trade secrets, just a wee bit of insight.

The space is there but it's not required information...which reminds me about the horror of buying our house but that is a whole different story... I dont put mine in because my PIE subscription ran out and Im too cheap to buy the full version.

No, I'm sorry - I didn't realize that info wasn't required. You can be lazy, I can't make judgements on laziness! Guilty party here too :)

Sorry. I appreciate it when others fill in the details, so I should do it myself. Will try to stick to good intentions :)

Isn't there a way to populate those fields with info from the EXIF data automatically?

No worries. 'Hate' is perhaps a little harsh. I just constantly find myself wanting to know more about all kinds of images and thinking "grr...why didn't they fill out the details". My challenge entries are always fully filled out and I'm slowly updating the non-challenge shots in my portfolio, so I don't cause the same "grr" for others. =)

Not unless it's an original (or EXIF is there? - not sure about that).
