Try contact a Site Council member and request for it.
or if that fails, wail and cry loudly in the forums (j/k!) |

I think the best way is to go to the Help > Contact > and DPChallenge - General Inquiry. And type in your request in the text box.
NOTE: Be aware of the self DQ rules.

Assuming you're talking about a self-dq:
Click on Help > Contact
Explain to SC that you would like to self-dq one of your photos. Remember though that two DQ's in a certain amout of time will lead to a temporary banning from the site. You must decide if it's really worth it to you.

I thought about self DQ requests before as well but in the end stayed and just took the scores as they came. Don't pull out. It's too early for that and besides, we all have probably gone through what you're going through right now. Slug it out dude! |

I have a great photo still the average vote so far is 3.62. So **** all who think that out of the box is not good. I'm not a sheep following the others in the big herd. Also I thought that the Road challenge is a semi free study. All who think about a street, aley, highway etc. when they hear the word 'road' go play with yourselves.

You won't get banned from the site for 2 DQ's. You lose submission priviledges for a week.
In order to discourage repeated disqualifications and abuse of the disqualification system, the following penalties will apply for repeat disqualifications:
1st DQ in last 25 submissions: No penalty
2nd DQ in last 25 submissions: 1 week suspension of submission privileges
3rd DQ in last 25 submissions: 2 week suspension of submission privileges
4th DQ in last 25 submissions: 4 week suspension of submission privileges and 3 months of required "pre-submission" of proof file.

I don't care...I do photography as a hobby and I love it a lot. And as a photographer you should be thinking out of the box all the time coz it's all about imagination.Am I wrong? So I don't need a bunch of conformist ***** to tell me that my photo is not good. |

You can ask for a self-DQ if you haven't had another DQ in 25 challenge submissions. Please think about it carefully though. Low scores or bad comments are not a good reason to pull a picture.

But the scores doesn't reflect the value of the photo. It only reflects the stupidity of some voters who think they are cool if they vote low a pic that in their opinion doesn't meet the challenge because there is no ROAD in it.(any kind of material road) |

Speaking as a member, not as SC, this is the kind of comment that gets me rather angry.
First of all, it is not right to take out your frustration on other people. "Go play with yourselves" is just not the way to deal with comments you don't care for.
Second, thinking out of the box (or thinking sideways) is very good, but it doesn't mean obscure or less common interpretations of the challenge topic.
Third, the challenges here are about making images to fit a topic/description. People who make images to fit the challenge topic are not sheep, or "not creative", that's just a bunch of so much bologna.
Anyway. That's my personal opinion.

Again as a personal opinion, not SC,
How do you know your image is so great? It is easy to think your own images are so wonderful, so much better than everyone else's, so creative, so out of the ordinary, yet, in general, they aren't. I haven't seen your image, so I don't know, but how do you know?
Maybe you're just sore because it's personal to you.
Voters are asked to keep the challenge topic in mind. A metaphoric road might be obvious to you, but maybe not to others. Remember that in general if you have to rely on the title to make the connection to the challenge, it probably is too obscure (not out of the box, obscure).

Ok, so the challenge is ROAD. My idea of road was more like a road you can take in life.An action that will take you on a different road.A decision you make(or not) that will take you on a different road. But the problem is that there is no actual road in the pic. I'm getting low votes because the people think of a road that you can actually see or touch rather than that damn decision that can take you on a road. |

You're saying it's a problem. It's not a problem. It's a valid interpretation. You don't know exactly why you're getting low votes, although you're right that usually less common interpretations don't score as high.
IMO (and remeber it's late at night and I'm grumpy today), live and learn. You like it, that's obvious. It's your interpretation of road. Leave it at that. Maybe a few comments will actually be helpful to you.

I don't know your photo, I havn't even looked at the Roads challenge, but to me, this just sounds like a concept that might be difficult to portray in a picture. Food for thought? The experiences in my life might make something seem obvious to me that someone else wouldn't 'get' if I hit them over the head with it :-) I don't think you should lose any sleep over it man, and give people a little slack. Just my opinion of course :-) |
