I was just sorting some photos for a freind with a program he sent to compress them and it seems to have removed ALL my pics I have taken recently (about 2000) and just got rid of them!!!! does anyone know any way to get them back????? please help!!!!

I don't see how anyone can help you there, sorry, unless you supply a little more information ..... at the very least people would need to know the name of the program you used.

You were sorting your FRIEND's photos and YOURS disappeared? Or you were sorting out some of your own FOR him and all seem to have disappeared?

I assume you've checked your trash? And another possibility is that the program has somehow renamed the directory, perhaps...

i got an email from him.. he went to the other thread downloaded a program mentioned on there and recovered all of his photos.

When you delete files from a PC normally files are not actually deleted, they are just marked as deleted but they actually remain on the harddrive, until you overwrite. So it is verry important if you want to attempt recovery not to do anything that might overrwrite them such as download or create new files. It is best not to touch that hdd anymore and install the recovery software and everything on another hdd and work on this as a slave.
