Does anyone know how to make a fog type filter with photo shop. Ive seen pictures taken with an actuall lense filter called fogy that are just breathtaking and i think it would be so cool to add this affect to some pictures like flowers and landscapes ect....

One of the simplist ways to diffuse an image in Photoshop is to make a duplicate layer of your image, and then do a Gaussian Blur on it. The strength of the blur should be just enough to make the colors and shapes barely recognizable. Then just start lowering the opacity of that layer until you get the diffused effect you're looking for.
Also experiment with the other blending modes. I use "Overlay" a lot when going for a slightly diffused look. Sometimes this saturates your colors a little too much so I bring it back down with a hue/saturation adjustment layer.
Hope that wasn't too technical :) |
