I got 2 packs of the 2500 druacell and a set came with this 1 hour charger. I haave an A60 takes 4, and A70 takes 4 and an A510 wich only takes 2. So i have an extra set for the 510. Today i put the 2 from the A510 and the extra pair in one of my otehr cameras and after a few snaps i got the "replace batterys" warning so i threw em all on the charger, i knew only 2 were drained but i figured it would top the other 2 off. It didnt, it began to overcharge them and they got pretty hot. If i would o fleft them on there they may have vented and melted the plastic cover. These chargers are junk, they are going to kill the batteries way to early. They will either under or over the cells. the 2 that over heated i took off and let the other 2 finish.
Im glad they wernt the best ones of the bunch. Ill have to rig up a discharge tray to run them down a little more after the camera spits em out.
I may have to pickup a good NIMH peack charger if i want these things to last a while. |

I think i got 2 4 packs of the 2500s and then the charger and 2100s came with it. I think $10. for the 2500s per pack and i think $20. for the charger and the 2100s
I havnt searched around yet about other batteries. I know that there are high end R/C cars that run AA batteries and these guys compete on a high level. The batteries for this hobby are usualy the top of the line. |

I use a lot of rechargeable AAs. I've been using the Lenmar Mach charger for AAs and it's very quick and seems to do a good job. However, it's been about 2 years now, and it's starting to fail (it doesn't always recognize when you put batteries in, you have to pull the plug).
So when I was going to Zermatt, I bought the Maha Travel charger. The Maha chargers get very good reviews. The one I bought is a little slower than the Lenmar (1 hour for two batteries, 2 hours for 4 as opposed to the Lenmar which is 1 hour for four). But it is very portable, having a cord only and no power "brick", and it's international (so is the Lenmar).
Check it out:

Or the Lenmar, really a bargain on Amazon:

I think every charger has warned against simultaneously charging batteries of different types and conditions. |

Well i think its stupid to just charge for an hour. Its like saying everytime i fill up my gas tank ill put $20. in reguardless of how much is in the tank.
They dont want them to last. I bet they would prefer we use alkaline, and just throw em away. |

The Maha and the Lenmar allow this, at least in banks of two.
Steve's has a review of the original Maha charger (the travel charger is newer.)
