to shoot photos that will be hung in a new office building!!!!! My wife's godfather is the CPO of a medical group and they're building a new office for their doctors. He asked me today if I'd be up to the task of putting together some shots to frame and display in the building. I'm super excited about it! I just wish that I had an DSLR though. I'm dying to get a 20d. My G6 hasn't let me down yet though so it should work fine. I told him to give me about 3 weeks and I'd have a portfolio for him to go through to decide which shots he wants. Is there anything that I should consider when doing a project like this? Thanks in advance.

Yes. Consider a loan. An upgrade in camera is definitely warranted and his job could very well pay for one. But you need the better camera first.

the G6 is a sweet camera, no worries.

i would consider what the interior will look like... maybe colours, modern, contemporary, ect.?

The G6 is up to the job I believe... do they have any requests for subjects? I suppose the appropriateness of your camera is somewahat dependent on what you are shooting...

Since it's not in your profile, we don't know where you are from, but I'd recommend unusual views of local sites.

I'm in San Diego and yes I was thinking the same thing about local sites. There is alot of photo opportunities in this city. I'll be busy the next few weeks shooting like a mad man. :)

Haha, that's funny. I know what you mean though. I love thunderstorms and snow and the changing of the seasons and you definitely don't get that here.

ask them what their total budget is for artwork, and whether or not they've hired a decorator. if they have, you might want to work with them. good luck, and have fun!

OK, what is a CPO? I know CEO, CFO, etc, but to me, CPO is Chief Petty Officer.

Regarding the idea of the G6 being up to the job or not, you might want to consider the size of the frames as well. 7MP vs 8MP isn't a huge difference though.

Just make sure you keep your noise under control.
