Just wanted to thank all the people that post here :) After reading through tons of threads here, I finally settled on getting a Rebel XT body & Canon's 70-200 f/4 for double rebates, and the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 (I haven't done much wide angle shooting in the past). From what I've read I dont think I'll be disappointed :)

Nice choice, hope you have a lot of fun with them and make lots of great photos.
I finally have enough to get a new lens, and I think I'll buy that same Tamron tomorrow.
