| Check out this shot, Sunday's Astronomy Picture of the Day. This is M104, the so-called "Sombrero Galaxy," an outstanding image from the Hubble Heritage collection, but take a look at the background. There are 100's of background galaxies visible, parts of the greater Virgo Cluster. Just an amazing shot. |

| Very cool, thanks for sharing. Did you see that double galaxy in the bottom about 1/3 from left? Pretty cool to see all the different galaxies in the background too. |

Though they could certainly stand to run it through Neat Image ;-) ;-) ;-)

That's always been one of my favorite galaxies--the dust lanes in it are incredible. BTW, here's the link to the top-level APOD page that links to the image.
